Exhale

I'm joining in on Lisa-Jo baker's 'Five Minute Friday'.
The rules are pretty simple. One word. Five minutes of writing. No editing.

Summer time to me is...
Sunny days.
Iced tea.
Swimming.
BBQ.
Flip Flops.
Sunscreen lotion smelling skin.
Bonfire.

Sometimes as relaxing as the word sounds... I get so caught up in all that it brings with it.

Baseball.
Day camps.
Scouts.
No school.
Birthdays.
Holidays.
Vacation schedules.
Camp Opportunity.
Bible school.
Art classes.
Summer school.

Then there are nights that I let myself take a breathe and realize the beauty that the hustle and bustle brings too. It's not that we over book ourselves. We are busy but in a good way. We are a big family so naturally someone usually has something going on.

Realizing that these moments are what makes summer memories takes some of the pressure off too. I want my children to look back ans say, "remember when" with a smile on their faces and a laugh at the end.

This is when I need to remember to exhale and breathe in all the sweetness that summer brings.
