I'm joining in on Lisa-Jo Baker's Five Minute Friday. The rules are pretty simple. One word. Five minutes of writing. No editing.
Here
I sit here in my basement with a coffee and blanket. It's spring but we had snow fall yesterday. There are so many things whirling around in my head. All the worries have filled up my list lately. So many worries in the here and now. The thing is, when I ask myself what can I do about any of the worries that are on that list... there isn't much I can do about them. Many of them affect my loved ones. All I can do is support them. I'm just here. I'm here. I know that I can and have been lifting them up in prayer. God is here. The room feels fuller saying that. I'm not just here muddling through all these worries by myself. There is a reason for all this. These mixed up seasons are so similar to the whirlwind of the here and now. You know what though... we are given the day that we are given. You can't change not having snow. You can't make it a 70 degree spring day. We can make it a beautiful day with our smiles and our giggles, our tears and our cries. Today is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.
You are so right. We had a very stormy night....to the point of spending most of it in the safe place. We have been having a cold Spring...and then storms last night. It reminds me that the rain is necessary for the crops of summer to grow. Loved your pot.
ReplyDeleteThat should have said post....I am multi tasking and planting some begonias for my classroom that my students brought me for my birthday.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Great is his faithfulness his mercies are new every morning... God is there with you and He is faithful in every season!
ReplyDeleteAmen, well said.
ReplyDeleteI love how the room feels fuller when you say God is here...god is always here, of course, but I know what you mean about feeling it. It's amazing that just calling our own attention to God's presence can make such a difference.
ReplyDelete'God is here. The room feels fuller saying that.' Just the mention of His name brings peace doesn't. Loved reading the words of your heart today
ReplyDelete"We are given the day we are given"--I would do well to remember that each morning:)
