Show and Share
With three boys we are always looking for cool boy stuff to do. No pink here!
I found this awesome 65 favorite read aloud books for boys off of Pintrest. can I just point out REALLY quick... Little House series is the first one! I LOVE Laura Ingalls Wilder. Can't wait to start reading this to the boys.
IN FACT: I would like to make this my goal. To read to the boys EVERY night. Life gets away from me and I want this to be a habit that we get into. So PLEASE ask me how I am doing on this one. Keep me on my toes ;)

Two for Twosday
Two for Twosday: two thoughts/ updates/ photos/ something that I don't want to forget or am flat out oober excited about.
1. I had forgotten how great it is to have your Momma to take care of you when you're sick.
2. I want to make these popsicle brownie bites for the boys.

Month in Review
JULY
What I'm eating/drinking: COFFEE!!!
What I'm wearing: Jeans and 3/4 sleeve red shit
My last Nook/iTunes/Audible purchase: Sanibel Scribbles
What I need to do today: Taking Alan to get his FIRST tattoo!
What the kids are doing: The boys are recovering from a late night last night. It was Rian's birthday so we went out to dinner and had presents and BIRTHDAY-ness with the family.
How I'm feeling: Wishing there was just a little bit more time in the day.
What I'm listening to: A Game of Thrones
Words to describe July: My what a fun filled month you were.
Noteworthy: MOM and ALAN flew in and it has been so much fun to be with them. I really am going to have a hard time seeing them leave.
What reading/learning did I do this month? Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, One Cold Night
What entertainment did I watch/listen to this month? Went to the ALL STAR FUTURES GAME with Molly. It was an absolute BLAST!!!
What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends? Float trip with the crew. Jacob, Tera, Tony, Molly, The Hubby and I.
What gifts did I give and/or receive? We were finally able to give Mom here cardinals baseball. Pickle also had his birthday this month we were able to add to his slugger collection. :)
What special or unusual purchases did I make? Well Mr. Josh had his birthday. Some family and I went in on a double buddy tree stand. We also got him an early weather hunting jacket. It's pimp.
What illnesses or health concerns did I have? Consultation today
What were my accomplishments this month? I don't know that I had any accomplishments BUT Rian is so very close to getting into undies. Samual has really stepped it up with house chores. Louis is getting much better at keeping his room picked up!
What were my downers this month? I'm still a little sad that Wayne wasn't able to come out with the family BUT hey maybe later.
What new things did I try? Alan made some amazing ribs for us. That dude is so going to grow up and be a cook. Just you wait.
How did I do on my goals for the month? Not so great. We did hit up the library and got a few new books.

Book log
Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil
By: John Berendt
Mr. Berendt Introduced many characters through Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. All the characters living very "southern charmed" lives. What is a south in lifestyle? Not at all what I thought it was going to be. There was drama and jail and getting high. Yeah. Drugs in the good ol' South! Hellooooo... I thought they were too high and mighty for that. Apparently no.
The thing that surprised me the most about this book was all the stereotypes that I had given Georgia. It really got me thinking about all the stereotypes that I had given to so many places. My first year of college I can't tell you how many people had told me they thought that all Oregon people wore was flannel. What? They thought all Oregonians were lumberjacks????
That's okay. When I moved to Missouri. I thought all the folks out here were going to be farmers and country listening cousins. I don't know! It's just what I thought.
Wait we have totally gone off track here.
I wasn't all too crazy about the book at first. The thing that I really enjoyed about this book was the fact that it made me think after I had put the book down.
For that I give it THREE stars.
